Services

Every client is different…

…and we work with clients to shape the profile of services we provide for them. Our services fall in five major areas:

  1. Advice and Advocacy
  2. Conceptualization
  3. Specifications
  4. Software construction
  5. Infrastructure setup and management

Breakdown woes

A crucial aspect of launching a new company is to get the technology choices right. Too strategic and they will never get off the ground. Too tactical and they lurch forever from one solution to the next. We have the experience and the breadth of knowledge to devise a technology road map to fit the needs of the company. No battle plan survives contact with the enemy — and no technology road map survives the realities of execution. When things go wrong, an entrepreneur needs someone to help them think through their options. We are that someone.

Conceptualize

Early stage entrepreneurs know what business they are in, but still need help conceptualizing what the technology for it looks like. We can help conceptualize the technology behind the business, and articulate the vision and the cost of the technology strategy to investors.

If the technology is to be built by a vendor, we can help write specifications that are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timebound. The key to outsourcing is clear and unambiguous specifications. We use a streamlined version of the Use Case methodology.

Seagull
Seagulls fly in, squawk a lot, dump on everyone, then fly out.

We don't just talk about it, we execute development projects. Advantage to our clients: access to our Pattern Libraries (more information upon request). We use a network of staff to build the technologies we specify and recommend. To some clients, this service may represent a conflict with Advice and Advocacy. Optionally, our contract can take this option off the table to avoid conflict of motives.

We work exclusively with cloud technologies. Given the cost constraints of early stage businesses, this makes sense until the business concept can be proven out. There is continued concern about trusting the cloud vis-a-vis security and confidentiality of data. We have developed technology strategies for ameliorating that concern.
